I’ve been fond of the Rouge Allure formula for awhile now; it’s thin but decently pigmented, slightly moisturizing and wears comfortably. However, until this week, I hadn’t yet found my perfect shade. ‘Darling’ is a repromote of a permanent US shade, released in the les Pop-Ups de Chanel collection. Reader, I swatched – and fell in love.
This is a ‘nice girl’ lipstick. It’s fresh, subtle-but-present, pretty but not distracting and brightens my face. I would meet my significant other’s parents for the first time in this lipstick; it’s that ‘nice’. It’s many other adjectives as well, and maybe it is a bit unimpressive against the other RAs in the collection (Genial & Super), but for 90% of us, it will be 90% more wearable. It is polished and wonderful. The colour on me is a sweet slightly-warm rose, with a touch of mauve in cooler light. If you are warm and looking for a quietly spectacular lipstick, give Darling a try!
$30USD/$50AUD for 3.5g. I am MAC NC25, Chanel 20 Clair/Cameo & NARS Fiji.
