My search for the perfect wearable red is over. Don’t let the color in the tube fool you. The dark, berryish, red color of the tube comes out as a very wearble corally-red. It’s a lustre finish, so there is a slight sheen to color, but nothing drastic. The color is not too intense for every-day wear, but it’s capable of taking your look into classic Hollywood glamour territory. I can throw this lipstick on for practically any occasion.
The color goes on smoothly, and I did not find it drying on my already crackly lips. I would say it lasts a good amount of time. How much, I can’t recall exactly, but I know I reapplied only a couple of times during the course of my friends’ wedding ceremony plus reception (a 6-hour event).
I think this color has the potential of looking good on nearly any skin tone. I am Asian and have yellow undertones to my skin. I don’t know what foundation shade I am at MAC since I have never been matched, but I am #120 in MUFE’s HD foundation, Nude in Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer, and Beige 3/Warm Beige 3.5 (depending on the product) for Bobbi Brown’s products for reference.
At $14 a tube and every penny going to MAC’s AIDS fund, I say go try it and don’t hesitate to get yourself one if it looks good.
